EDIH Academy: Smart textiles unleashed

On 14 November 2024 (14:00 – 15:00), Lukas Neumaier from Silicon Austria Labs will present an EDIH Applied CPS success story of printed electronics in the textile industry at the EDIH Academy.

Part 1 provides a comprehensive overview of global market trends in printed electronics, highlighting its various application areas and benefits.

Part 2 will feature an SME success story with Etiketa Tiskarna, a Slovenian printing solutions company, detailing their journey to integrate printed electronics into their product offering.

Etiketa Tiskarna wanted to expand into printed electronics to enhance the functionality of their products and open up new opportunities in sectors such as healthcare and smart packaging. Through a specialised ‚test before invest‘ service provided by EDIH Applied CPS, Etiketa gained critical insight into the integration of printed electronics into their thermal label printing processes, addressing feasibility, challenges and exploring different printing techniques. This fundamental research enabled Etiketa to strategically plan for innovation, potentially leading to advanced products such as sensor-enabled smart labels.
